(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We are brand new too chicken. We have had our chickens for a couple of months.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We currently have a total of 6 chickens. We for sure have 2 hens and 1 rooster. A friend gave them all to us. The other three were quite young and now over the last couple of months look like they all may be roosters as well or maybe 2 roosters and 1 hen (she thought they were hens).
(3) What breeds do you have?
I think they are Ameraucana, Holland and Easter Egger, some are a mix.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love talking to my chickens! lol, they are good listeners
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Family genealogy and hanging out with my family.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We are homeschooling family with six kids. I am also a director of a before/after school program in our small town. We just bought an old house that we are renovating with a bunch of land and chickens are our first animals that we have added to our family.

I found BYC by just googling questions I have had about our chickens. Looks a great place for answers!
