10000% agree!

What I especially like is when both sides of an argument think we are biased toward the opposing side. This happens with religious & political topics the most, e.g., conservatives say we're too liberal and liberals say we're too conservative.

When it comes to moderation of sensitive topics, when both sides think you're biased in the favor of the other side, you know you're doing it right!

Hahaha! You quoted me while i was editing, trying to make it clearer. That's OK.

That's so true about both sides (or all sides) thinking we're favoring another.

I am chiming in .... I have not read all 26 pages BUT I would like to voice my concern about NO POINTS WARNINGS.

I am been WARNED twice about breaking the rules from two different moderators. They were two totally different violations too.
I honestly did not know I was breaking the rules.....

I would of been TOTALLY CRUSHED if it had been handled in a high handed method and SLAPPED with points too!
If the moderators have a way of seeing things.... I think a WARNING - - without any points should ALWAYS be issued for each type of violation.

It is not always so obvious that we have made a mistake . .. .. .
For example, I have seen MANY mention having a drink on this forum and NEVER seen any one called on it.
USING the SAME smilies others have used - - a smilie toasting some one - - I got a warning for it!
It falls under the "ADULT CONTENT" catergory in case you didn't know.... POINT IS others do it and nothing , I did it and WARNING.
I would of been hot if I had acquired points for my mistake!

I got up to page 11 and have not seen exactly where we look in our profiles for the point records.

If you have no points, then nothing shows up - - at all?

Where in profile do we look?

One thing that happens all the time is when people say, "You didn't remove this post, so you must agree with them!" or "You didn't remove the post that was worse than mine, why are you so biased!?!?"

99% of the time the answer is simple: We didn't take action because either:

1) The post wasn't reported. We can't and don't read every one of the 9,000 posts created every day. If a post breaking the rules is still on the forum, it is because nobody reported it.

2) The post doesn't clearly violate one of our rules.

Remember, perception and context on a forum are very tricky. There will always be tons of shades of gray. Fortunately our staff discuss these situations and give our opinions on the interpretation of the post.

From the 1st post on page 1:

You can see your infraction points and warning history in your user profile (Profile, Essentials, User activity). Only you and forum staff can see your warnings

So my user activity box doesn't have the label(s)

Infraction points and Warning history..... These labels won't show up until there is an actual warning ? ?

I agree with the bias thing. The mods don't know people personally but they do know who are the troublemakers on here. If someone has commited obvious iinfractions numerous times, they are more likely to get points. If it is a one time thing that is most likely an accident, the mods are probably going to be more leinient.

If you had points it will show up on your profile towards the bottom under Auctions. It shows up in BOLD letters. You won't miss it.
