New Jersey

I have one

If you have a permit for the pheasant, then how come they are now telling you that you cannot keep them. Didn't they know where you lived already? Or is the permit a state thing and not township? I think I'm missing something.

I also thought I read that poultry are considered domestic livestock. Whatever difference that makes. The state has to make it so confusing. I was trying to find out the laws for selling poultry as a private seller.

The NJ Department of Fish and Wildlife will give you the permit. You either have to email or call them or something. Visit their website to find out. Just Google the organization name and a site link will come up. I does have a yearly fee I believe.
can i get one for my other birds tooo:)))))))))

I'm not sure if pigeons need one, but you can ask them. Chicken permits would be something you get from your town hall. The state of NJ does not require permits for chickens, however individual towns do. It is very confusing. I am yet to register my birds with my town.
