I think you are right about the turkey vultures.

What kind of rabbits? We might get a lop this time. We are not sure of the exact type we have now (bought her at a pet store-bad idea...she's great but they had no idea about bunnies!)

I will keep an eye out for the eagles

The eagles are so awesome. My dad lives on the water off Princeton Ave. and for the last few years there was a nesting pair directly across the river from his house. He is retired and has A LOT of time on his hands and volunteers for the EPA (i think that's the organization). They have him sit out and document when they come and go from the nest all day long, every day. This year Osprey have moved onto the nest. He's in his glory. What ever keeps him busy!

I am not far from you...off 88 but on the opposite side of Midstreams. Small world! my husband and I have been saying we are surprised to hear how many people around here have chickens. What kind do you have?

Are you by Herbertsville? Chickens are popping up everywhere.

There is another family on our block that has a little flock of three. We have an ameraucana, a french black copper marans, a buff laced brahma, a rhode island red, a buff orpington, and soon a gold laced wyandotte

The volunteer EPA thing is great for my dad. Like i said, he's older and alone and it's so easy especially during the winter months for him to just sit around the house and do nothing, literally. This kind of forces him to get up and out. Stinks getting old. I beg him all the time to let me get him a dog but he doesn't want the commitment. He says that he wants to be able to pick up and go where ever when ever and not have to worry about the dog. He never goes anywhere!!!! The other day he called and said he was going to costco and i almost fell off my chair.

Shhh...don't tell my husband you can have more than 4 chickens in Brick...he read it was only 4 ;-D lol!

I love that you have a variety. We have 3 RIRs and an araucana. 2 of the reds are laying pretty consistently and the araucana is new to us last Friday and she apparently has a cold (?). So hopefully she will start laying those pretty blue eggs soon!

Llandry, you have a buff laced brahma? I didn't know they came in that variety. I looked them up though and they are pretty cool! All three of us are very close to each other! I have:
1 Buff Orpington
1 Black Silkie
1 White Polish
2 Easter Egger bantams
I am soon getting: 1 Porcelain D'Uccle, 1 Modern Game bantam, and 1 Golden Sebright bantam.
