Hey Everyone,
My name is Travis and my fiancé and I have a little Urban Farm in Wheat Ridge, CO! Just introducing myself, so I guess I’ll go through the questions. I joined today because we decided for the first time a few weeks ago to incubate eggs from our flock and as of this morning, we have had 3 of 6 eggs hatch and two more piping!
1. We first became chicken owners when we bought this house almost two years ago and inherited an incumbent flock. Unfortunately, only one is left as we learned the hard way about local predators (Foxes, Coyotes, Bob Cats, Raccoons) as new chicken owners =[
2. 6 Hens, 1 Rooster, 4 Pullets, 3 Chicks, 3 eggs piping!
3. Ayam Cemani Rooster...Sebright Bantam, Bantam x Polish, Golden Comet, Light Sussex, Russian Orloff, Silver Laced Wyandott, Leghorn.
4. Favorite part is having eggs to eat, watching young ones grow up, and now hatching eggs!
5. Other hobbies include gardening, sports, hiking, camping, fishing.
6. My fiancé is pregnant with our first (daughter), her name is/will be Ryann =]. We also have 4 dogs (Jasper, Rooby, Asia, Nala), 2 cats (Tito & Blaze), and 2 Peacocks (Tom & Mayflower).
7. I found this site because now that we are hatching eggsI was curious to see if anyone else had posted pics on the internet of Hybrids/Mixes that came from an Ayam Cemani Rooster.
***Our first set of chicks hatched came from two crosses that involve our Ayam Cemani Rooster. They are:
*Ayam Cemani x Golden Comet
*Ayam Cemani x Light Sussex
It would be great if someone could point me in the direction of a good thread to discuss my new baby Hybrids! Thank you!
