Hi everyone! My husband and I "adopted" a lonely Golden Lakenvelder chicken last winter who escaped when our neighbors moved. I think she was the only one of their flock that survived. We decided to buy some more chickens to keep her company building a coop and renovating an old dog pen for their yard. Now we have 2 production reds, 1 cuckoo marans, and our Ginger, our Golden Lakenvelder. She is still the only one laying, as the others are only 5 months old. Any suggestions on type of food (layer pellets versus crumbles, etc.)? I am also going to get a 4 week old Ameraucauna next weekend from my "city" daughter.
