Hi,
I'm in the SF East Bay Area and have 5 almost 10 week old chicks. I got 7 chicks when they were 2 to 3 days old. 3 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Speckled Sussex and 2 Rhode Island Reds. 1 BO and 1 SS turned out to be roosters. My town doesn't allow roosters, so I re-homed them yesterday. It was sad!
This is our second foray with Backyard Chickens. The first time was about 24 years ago when our daughter's kindergarten class hatched incubated eggs. Of course we had to have some!
All these years later, it seems a different world! The internet is an amazing tool to ask questions and learn about being the best chicken parents you can be!
I'm looking forward to first eggs sometime around Thanksgiving for the RIRs and up to New Year's from the BOs.
