Your story is a good example of why people shouldn't do pot.

I feel bad for the dogs, though. I know a guy who had rottweilers and lived near a horse trail. He thought it was funny to see his dogs come out and scare the horses half to death. I've come across a lot of people who live in the country, at least in SoCal, who are that way. They let their dogs roam free all over the place. Then, they form packs and start attacking people on trails or riding bicycles on the roads out of sheer boredom.

Hate that the dogs had to die but when it comes to my livestock or my stupid irresponsible pet owner neighbor...he is going to lose his dogs. When my chickens start killing the neighbors pets, I would fully expect them to shoot them as well.

Some people! At least he had the excuse of being a pot head. I've known a few who didn't even have that excuse for their own stupidity. It is sad that the dogs had to die because of their owner's stupidity. Unfortunately, it sounds like they probably would have been destroyed sooner or later anyway even if they weren't harassing livestock. People like that who get dogs like rottweilers are exactly the kind of owners that responsible dog owners everywhere have to thank for asinine laws arbitrarily banning a given breed(s) (or any dog that looks like they might possibly be that breed or a mix of that breed). You can guarantee that he hadn't socialized or trained them because in his mind they would make much better "guard" dogs for his pot if they were mean and he clearly had no intention of containing them either. It would have only been a matter of time before a person was bitten.
