If he is a mix, you may never know exactly what his lineage is; just enjoy him and call him whatever you want.
He looks similar to my foster dog, Roscoe, who is 18 month....a loving, playful boy without an aggressive bone in his body even though he is VERY afraid of humans.

He also could be a border collie/ pitbull mix? All I know is that he sure is a cutie!

There was also a dog I saw in the pet shop being sold as a Pitbull x Pointer that had those ears and coloring. I change my stance, I agree with the other people that the puppy has a lot of pointer in it!

He does look pretty big for a 4 month old in the pics... he could even be a great dane mix...
