New Project "Road to Ok" Quilt for My Bed (Top Finished!)

Kathryn, you read my mind! I am going to do a gold, then blue border (maybe sew the gold and blue strips together before sewing onto the medallion), then do a pieced border like you suggested. If you thought of it, too, it must be a good idea!

Kathy, thanks for that link. I'll go check it out. The medallion is now 36" square and I'll do more on it tomorrow. I'm yawning already!

Thank you, Stacey.

Cynthia, you are so talented. This quilt will be awesome and I am so happy that you are making one for yourself finally. Good on ya!!!

Hahaha, 21 days may complete the top! Here is the next installment of the Road to Oklahoma Medallion Quilt:

That blue in the border and in the quilt is not as light as my stupid camera makes it seem. It's more purplish-deep blue in reality. I just didn't finish this in time to catch the daylight outside.

The next border will be pieced, like the center of the stars, with a little 4 patch block. Not sure if I should do blue and green or blue and red or green and red, though, or maybe bring in another color entirely. Any suggestions?

That looks lovlier every time I see it!

I blame you for my purchase of a Jelly roll today (I'm going to make my little one a book bag for school. But its still your fault)

Well, I usually like larger than the border touching but as to the size..I would lay it on the bed and see where the next border takes it..I personally don't like to have "block borders" that fall over the edge..?..and I would also figure if it doesn't come to the edge, how much distance would be left as to an estimate on the next border..that might make a difference in the size of this one

Clear as mud..right?

Ok, I'll take the blame ((hangs head in shame.....................yeah, right, LOL!).

Cedar Ridge, I'll have to re-read that. LOL. I think you mean that the block borders (as opposed to plain ones) should stay on the surface of the bed and not fall over the edge, right?

Just measured. This is now 45" square. A queen mattress is 60 x 80 on top. So, maybe that will help me figure out what to do next.
