Wow! That quilt top is gorgeous! It really stands out! Are you going to use more of the black & white on the edges? or as a binding? That's really pretty!!

YOu can walk away from sewing but when you get on the genealogy site you'll be there for hours upon hours
Yes, I was up til 4 am this morning trying to find a Hiner link in Indiana for the early 1800s
But the sewing room is calling.....still have some Christmas projects to do some handwork on...the daybed may offer too much comfort......
Thanks, Luna and Angela. I have the top and bottom borders to sew on and then, pics will be forthcoming. The newer colors look fine, but actually, I only had to use the green and it matches better than the red does, so it really doesn't show up as being different unless you look closely and see the difference in the weave of the fabric. Whew!

Well, you are certainly doing a wonderful job and this will be (I know) a beautiful family heirloom in years to come. In Jan. i am going to get started on a quilt....I just don't have any ideas as to which pattern to use........Any ideas will be helpful
Angela, if you've never made a quilt before, one with squares and rectangles would be the easiest. Here is a site that you can look up patterns by size and difficulty rating and with good instructions for them, too. http://quilterscache.com/QuiltBlocksGalore.html
Still have the top border to attach, had to fudge a bit on the bottom one, take up some slack, but have a headache and will take a break for awhile. I think the next plain border will be gold, then black, then will put blocks across the pillow area, then surround the entire thing with more plain borders, but not 100% positive yet. Another picture below--would go out and take it where the light is much better, but it's pouring rain and windy and my stupid porch is leaking.

Will this be your first quilt, or have you quilted before? I always recommend the pattern, "Rail Fence," as a first quilt. It is easy and you can get it done in a short time (immediate gratification! LOL)
Cyn, It's lookin' great! Could you use one of these in the border? They are Jinny Beyer designs. I would be happy to send them to you!
