New puppy!! DNA test? What do you think he is? UPDATE on pg 7

When I worked at a shelter for many years, we found rotties really WERE more susceptible to it....maybe all the poor breeding? It's been so long now I don't recall the assortment of breeds that got it the most, other than rotties.....

Well, I know we used to always give Rotties a 4th series of parvo shots at the vet hospital, don't know if it hold true any more though. Been a few years.

and somewhere niggling in the back of my head is something about pitties being more prone, but can't remember the exact details.

As for puppy (STILL unnamed!)...he is doing so much better today. Yesterday he had zero energy. Today he is up with the other dogs trying to play around. He has had 4 subcutaneous treatments so far and finally ate today (with no vomiting). I was shocked at how fast he turned around. The vet figured Sunday he would be more active and act normal again after 4 days. But, it is probably related to us catching it early. He is such a doll! He was trying to run around with Casey and Mika (clearly doesn't have all of his energy back, but probably a good 60-75%). He is so uncoordinated!

He has the gangly puppy run like he hasn't gotten accustomed to his long legs yet and oversized feet.

I worked in a parvo ward many years ago and remember a lot of pitt pups with it.

Shar pei has been brought up a couple time....where are you guys seeing shar pei? I don't see it at all, but I am also not familiar with shar pei's (besides being able to recognize the pure breds).
