Having a new puppy has to be one of the most exciting additions to the family you can have. They're little, bright eyed and bushy tailed, playful, frustrating, and endlessly hilarious! You can't be mad at them for more than a second with those eyes! šŸ˜
I've seen quite a few threads titled, "new puppy!", "getting new puppy, tips and tricks", "what dog breed should I get". Here we can share the excitement of the new additions, share tips and tricks, and best of all, photos!
Why did you decide to add a pup to the family? Are you using him/her for a specific purpose? Breed, gender, name, age, stories are all welcome!
Congrats on everyones new babies! I know I'm overjoyed to have Ember in the family as well. Welcome to the thread!

Oooooooooooh what breed is Ember?!

We decided to add Finn to our family because it is a good time for us to get another dog, and we've been missing one since our last boy passed. I'd like to get him involved with therapy dog work, because he has absolutely perfect temperament for it, as well as agility training. He's a four month old Golden Retriever.

This is Ember! She's a Yellow Labrador puppy, 8 weeks old. We brought her home last night, and is settling in great to her new home! She's affectionate and smart. šŸ’•
Her favorite toys so far are made of rope, and she's learning not to jump up on you very quickly.
Photos of the lovely lady!

So exciting! Congratulations! I love retrievers, we've always had yellow Labrador Retriever, this is our third pup from the same bloodline. šŸ˜

She's be our third generation duck hunting dog. šŸ’•
We have Comet, our 5 year old yellow Lab now. He does great, but a second retriever always helps. ;) She, along with Comet, will also be our trail dog, and we plan to possible breed her once she's old enough. I know, I know, lots of dogs are in shelters that need homes. Labs are usually purchased for hunting and specific reasons that shelter dogs, (mixes) can't bring you. Not wanting to be told I shouldn't breed. :)

That's wonderful! I love retrievers as well, but I must say that I prefer goldens and tollers over labs
I love Goldens as well. I actually brought up getting a Golden over a Lab this time, but we've been with the same breeder for years, and it was immediately turned down because of the long hair they shed lol! 🤣
Labs already shed enough, and long hair would be even worse. Hahahaha!
