Oh he is just too stinkin' cute!!!!

He *looks* like he might be a full Doxie, but it's hard to tell by the way he's sitting. How much does he weigh? Post us a pic of him standing, from the side. He's a cutie - I love his markings - very cool!

One of my wiener dogs is a full-on threat to anything small and furry, he has a very high prey drive and is very single-mindedly focused when in this mode. The other one thinks other animals are fun and all, but too much work to chase. This may change as he gets older, but I doubt it.

I would say he's likely purebred, just not from very well-bred stock. Although I used to have one that was champion sired out of a show pointed dam that looked like he was part Chihuahua - bless his sweet little heart. Sometimes the genes just don't sort themselves out the way you'd expect. I would never trust 99% of the dachshunds I've known with chicks or other small animals. Most of mine I wouldn't even trust with a kitten. Thanks for helping him out! I love just about all dogs, but dachshunds are my heart breed.

When my husband first seen him from the back he thought he was a beagle and then he turned around.
He weighs roughly 30 pounds. He goes to the vet tomorrow.
When he barks he sounds like a beagle, but who knows.
He is let outside to go potty on one side of the fence and the chickens are on the other side.
He seems to go ok with the kitten and my daughter.
He does wonderful with all the other dogs.

Yeah he is pretty good sized.
I was suprised at how heavy he was when I picked him up.
I'll know for sure tomorrow how much he weighs.

He weighs 28.6 pounds and the vet said he could stand to gain a few more pounds.

The vet thinks he is a beagle X doxie mix as well

At that weight I would go with the beagle doxie mix. From the video I thought he was a puppy.
