New to all this, scared birds

What is the red object to the left of the picture? I assume it is a feeder or a water-er, but I have never seen one like that.

The old advice on keeping them locked up in the coop for a week, to me means a single coop/run set up. If you did not have a run, then the coop only. I worry about heat in a shut up coop. When I get new birds, I keep them in the set up, before I let them out.

Looks like a nice coop.

Mine go nuts for Grubblies (soldier fly larvae), which are sold for a reasonable price at my local feed store. They are slowly learning to love grapes, tomatoes and other fruits and veggies.

I assume it is a feeder
I think so too.

Hey, @moremargothanbarbara !
Where in this world are you located?
Climate is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, then it's always there!
