Oh good to know! They boys were fighting but I added an additional feeder and now it’s not an issue but I’m very protective of my girls. Good reason to move them on. Do you think we could keep 2? Keep in mind that these are silkies and satins, they’re so docile and held daily by me and my girls.

You can try, but I think you need a lot more pullets for them. There is another thing you could try and that would be a bachelor pad. I'm considering this myself with my two Young cockerels. Mine are about 13 weeks now, but when trouble begins I'll be ready with a separate coop and run for them.

:frow:welcome I too missed welcoming you. I hope you’ve been finding your way around okay. Are your children enjoying the farm animals? PLEASE tell me you have goats now!
As for the boys, you should hear what we say when we tell you to fix the ratio, but in the end, it is how the flock behaves.
A few months ago, I was at four boys, five girls, zero problems. I was lucky!! My main roo will not let anyone mate his girls.

A big welcome to you, @BantamBabies :welcome

A late welcome from me. A big round of applause first off for your husband building you a coop and run. That's so great of him! I am so glad your little ones enjoy playing with the chickens. I'd love to hear more about your bunnies and horses too! What breeds do you have? I highly suggest joining BYC's sister site called BackYard Herds for any questions or info about horses and bunnies, along with other animals like goats, pigs, cattle, and even bees!

I saw one photo in here at the beginning- but we are photograph folks so don't hesitate to post more pictures soon! Look forward to seeing you around.

Honestly you guys have given such great gentle advice. We don’t have goats yet but how fun!!! We found two families to take two of our boys, why wait until there’s more trouble. I’m hoping the two roosters we are keeping will get along, they are my girls two favorites but now I’m worried I might be giving away one of the sweet ones. Who knows what they’d be like given some power lol. At least the two I’m keeping get along together and are nice to the hens. Coconut is a wheaten frizzled satin, and Spot is a blue silkie with silver leakage. I hope they’ll make their new flicks of 5 hens each very proud. (I selected to post pictures as thumbnails. Should I have picked Full Image?) thanks everyone for the warm welcomes too!
