I am not sure about the business license but my accountant told me to keep all receipts from everything I buy if I am going to be selling eggs, which we plan on. I know you need a license to take them to the Farmer's Market but I only plan to sell from home. We live between 2 large churches and I hope to get some business from all the traffic. We'll put a sign down at the end of the driveway.
We are doing a lot of dual purpose, too. Got a few roos to put in the freezer when cooler temps hit in Sept/Oct.
You are west of me being on Lake Bowen. Aren't the mountains gorgeous? The trees have really grown up a lot in the many years that we have lived here and I see them more in the winter but I still love to know they are there. Wish it gave us cooler temps though!

I love to see others on here as well, like nccountrygirl, who is one of our own! And arlee453 is still close enough to call neighbor!

Nadine.. I love those mountains. I have look at them all my life. We plan on doing that as well. We hope we can sell them that way. If not I will have to look into getting a license to sell them somewhere. There is the farmers market in greenville. Which is a nice big one. There may be one in Tryon but I am not sure. I will have to check in to it more and find out for sure.

Time to make sure the babies are sleeping lol .. They hate me already. lol.

Hi all:

I don't have chickens *yet* but I've been reading about it and would really like to. Problem is, we want to move to York/Lancaster county as close to Charlotte as possible. Seems like the entire area is covered with little houses made of ticky-tacky that don't allow chickens due to the HOA. (Besides, most homes are now built on .15 acres.)

Is anyone aware of a subdivision or neighborhood in the Fort Mill general area that allows chickens?

The answer is worth its weight in gold to me. TIA.

I am in Spartanburg County, in the Woodruff area. This is my first time raising chickens so I am just making it up as I go.
