Hey there! Please don't judge this set up, I just got them to my house, they'll be in a great setup soon. The lady I picked them up from said she got them at our local feed store, she says Hoover Hatchery is where they get them from and all she knows is that they lay dark brown eggs. Looking at hoover's website, they look like Maran mixes. Is that a thing or do you guys know specifically what these pullets are?

They look like pullets to me but I am not the expert. One looks like a mix.
I was definitely told they are pullets and they look that way to me too, I'd just really like to know their breeds. Thought they might look familiar to someone, I have none that look like these. They also don't look as big as my 8 week olds but asked that specifically and was told they are 8 weeks old. I think these are 5 or 6 based on their size but maybe the breed makes that difference.

One is a Cuckoo Marans and other a Blue Laced Gold Wyandotte :)
Thank you!!!
Which Cuckoo Maran? Columbian, White, Wheaten, Copper Blue, Birchen, Brown Red, Black tailed Buff, Golden Cuckoo, Silver Cuckoo, Black or Dark Cuckoo?? So cool about the Blue Laced Golden Wyandotte, I have a lot of research to do today! Thanks again for your response! ❤️

Okay so, the only varieties of cuckoo you'll ever see in Marans is golden cuckoo, blue cuckoo, silver cuckoo, and apparently there have been a project chocolate cuckoo here and there (I don't even believe any are readily available for sale in US). Cuckoo is just messy barring due to the lack of the slow feathering gene. You can throw it on whatever feather variety you want. Silver cuckoo is just called "cuckoo" as it's what everyone assumes when someone says cuckoo. It's barring on black. Golden cuckoo can occur in quite a few ways but it could be barring on black copper, barring on wheaten, barring on wildtype among others. It varies line to line. Blue and chocolate cuckoo are just barring on a blue or chocolate bird. Just to recap, yours is just a (silver) cuckoo but calling her cuckoo is adequate! :)

Thank you for taking the time to explain this to me! Makes much more sense to me than how the various website I've searched lay it out! Thanks again!
