New to Silkies, Color Question (Added Pictures)

As of tonight I don't have pictures of the parents, but they are all white. Not one of them has any other color on them whatsoever. Hopefully, I'll have time tomorrow to photograph the parents.

As a side note...I raise exotic birds (parrots) and many species have "splits" or what would be called hidden genes that may not be visible on the parent bird, but show up in the offspring. I have a basic understanding of recessive and sex-linked genes but don't know if that is applied in fowl?

Believe me, I'm as baffled as you, since I don't understand what color has the ability to produce what.
 
Do you have any breeds or roosters other than silkies & showgirl? The chick doesn't look like a purebred silkie, which would account for the black (and that is the variety) down.

It would be great if I had a bantam Cochin but I don't! I checked again, and the four chicks do have 5 toes on each foot.
The only other rooster here is a Buckeye rooster and he's not in the same barn as her and his color is mahogany red.
