Oh my god, I better call my mom, she's in Woodstock.
Its beautiful here today. It was so nice last night, I even left the button quails outside (covered). Thank you Mr. Gulf Stream for your wonderful, if sometimes stifling, balminess.

Our weather has been chilly but nothing frozen yet and we have a 40% chance of snow wednesday. The temps at night are suppose to drop down in the 20's at night starting tonight. I'd rather battle the 100 temps of summer than the freezing cold in winter. Last winter wasn't too bad but this winter may be a bad one. I hope not. I have 1 orp hen that is still looking like a porcupine form a hard molt. The other hen has enough feathers back now to cover her and their roo is so large he can keep them both warm. I worry about the few that are in my juvie pen. They just won't sleep inside. We're gonna build a door that I can open and go thru myself but also a door in that one the chickens can go out but I can close to keep them in also. I'll just have to put them in the pen at night and lock them in. Goofy chickens.

Mine: I will take the daffodil bulbs (can you get them here before next Monday? I have a garden club meeting with a bunch of kindergarteners for which I need some bulbs).

Offer: Fresh homemade jams- Choose from: Strawberries, watermelon, watermelon rind, mint watermelon or some eggplant tapenade which I've just canned (made from home-grown, organic eggplants, tomatoes and basil).

I believe that I can fit two jars into a flat rate box without worrying about them breaking. They don't have to be the same flavor.
