Wicky has some grey/white but mere amounts (PBR). Colors will metamorphose soon enough. I do like little Banty's colors.. They will change as well. This is what I like most about this thread. As it progresses, the looks of the poultry specimens keep changing. Usually when I raise them for sales or myself, I don't have a photographic timeline showing color progressions. So I find this interesting as well as rewarding.

Banty, your egg is violet= Black Jersey Giant,

I am 100% sure.. I have 2 BJG total ranged. this is one of them. Daddy has only 3 possibilities.


Wicked, (brown egg) your egg is from "Pinky"= A true Barred Rock. Also 100% sure.

Again 3 possible daddies.



Bachelor number one:
This Mottled Java Roo.. (Back up breeder for house #3) young and frisky but low on the totem pole.

Bachelor number two:
"Righty" a deformed leg MUTT Roo who was a really bad leg splay at hatch. He was banded for the first 2 weeks of his life. I kept him because I like underdogs.. He has the good life I tell ya..

Bachelor number three:
Dr. Pepper.. Gentle with the ladies but keeps the boys in check. Head of the Total Rangers. Soft as a pillow.

I just gave the 2 new "Great White North" birdies their first dish of starter crumble. They are wondering what to think about it.
All six NYDHAL Chickens will make a fine addition to our little oasis in the woods..
