New Year's Resolutions for 2026

My new years resolution might sound petty to some but it matters for my mental health. I resolve to not respond in my family's mass texts, unless I am called out directly. I have three family members who are very selfish and if the text doesn't concern them, food, or something they think they are an expert at, they will not respond. Not even a congratulations on a job promotion or a good job on my nephew getting his driver's license. And yes, I've talked to them about it and it does no good
There's nothing petty about removing toxicity from your life. Good Move!

... Of course it feels like crap when it's family, even though I'm sure it's not personal.
Technically, it is personal ... to them. Leave that ball in their court. Their issues do NOT need to be personal to YOU!

It's not about politics. It's just random everyday things. For example, I got a promotion at work and these people never congratulated me. But then someone texts about food and they are all over those texts, they can't respond fast enough
Hey, count that as a win! They have no accomplishment to compare it to, so they stay quiet!

Mine is to work hard at getting a normal sleep schedule.

I work from home and am stuck into old work habits of working nights, so I still do that. I'm up until the wee hours of the morning getting my work done. I'd like to try change that to getting up earlier and going to bed sooner. I've said that before but this has been going on for several years. It's about time!
Start with small increments of time like 20-30 mins and do that for several weeks. Then adjust every so often until you find what works. They say it takes 14 days to get used to something new like that. It will take some time and a process but better than completely switching from nights to days cold turkey. Trust me, it doesn't work well and takes longer in the end.

I'm determined to get a lot more organised. I made a good start this morning until this afternoon

Wishing you all a very happy new year 🎉 😊

Every little step is progress. Start out small then work toward bigger areas/goals. Just remember, disorganization didn't happen in 1 day. And it won't take 1 day to fix it all up either. Just take your time and just do little bit here or there. You definitely don't want to burn out too early.
