We need a coop. Hubs is pretty handy with wood work and is willing to start a coop this weekend. Week old babies, 12 pullets. Would like to round to about 20 hens I am guessing. Space isn't an issue and I want a big run and will free range some when home and outside to watch them. Would like it to be a *cute* coop and as predator safe as possible. Outside of Houston Texas, rural-ish and we do have coyotes, raccoons, stray cats (which I feed) and hawks. My spot is close to tie in electric for heat plugs and central light and close to the faucet off the water well.
Where is the best places for plans, best coop for predator protection, etc....Great ideas for all aspects chickens welcomed and appreciated since we know very little! Is sand the best run material and what do they need to dust? Best coop bedding, etc......THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
