We got our Silkie eggs today, incubator has been up and running good. I know I need to let them settle. At what temp do I do that at?

What temp should bator be at? I have heard 99.5-101.5?

Also, I bought a fan but it wont be here till next week. Should I install when it comes or just leave it alone.

I am a newbie as well. I have incubator babies due the 16th. Broody babies due 17th, 18th, 19th, and the 28th. A lot a know. My hens decided to go broody right after i set my incubator. Fan model is what i have and was told by a ton of member to set at 99.5. I believe 100.5 for still air. I have found all over the internet anywhere from 99 to 101.5 but i trust the members here. Mine is 99.5 and I have 99 percent fertilization and development. You probably do not want to set at the still air and then switch to the fan mid incubation due to the temp change needed but like i said i am a newbie as well. From what i understand the temperature changes can kill the embryo . Good luck!!

Hahaha I know in so anxious. So, when should I put them in? Tomorrow or wait till sat? I have them in garage about 65 degrees resting. My house is about 70.

I have no experience with shipped eggs. I have read online about letting sit for 24 hours at room temp before placing in incubator. I just now read that you should incubator with small end up if shipped due to air cell. Maybe someone with experience can lend info

There seems to be a lot out there. But that first link is from this site from our members so like i said earlier i trust their experience more than online

So "what is room temp"? I hadnt heard it was reverse on shipped eggs. Ive read so much but shipped eggs poses different challenges!
