Our peeps are about 3+ weeks old and are losing their little downy feathers for their big kid feathers. Once in awhile when the peeps preen or shake out their feathers, some little fluffy downy feathers float into the air and I've seen a couple of them catch and eat those downy feathers. Is this normal? Should I worry about it?
Also, most of them seem to have normal poops, but I have at least one that still looks like molasses rather than a nice solid poop. I put a little cider vinegar in their water and the molasses has improved (quite a few of the peeps has molasses poops when we brought them home), but there is still someone who has it. How do I help it go away other than the cider vinegar?
Do we have to trim beaks at all?
You'd think that having an umbrella cockatoo for 17 years I'd know a little bit about birds, but I feel so clueless!
