NEWBORN DUCKLING PLEASE HELP!

The mother duck? you may not be able to put it back.
How precious 🥰
I had a mama muscovy that attacked one of her ducklings pretty sure she'd
have killed him if I hadn't walked in a that moment. We raised him inside. He is now 10 yrs old.
So I went out to take away all the unhatched eggs and two had pipped but didn’t make it. But my other mallard is laying on a nest. She has went broody before. Do you think she’d accept the duckling?

Maybe, but don't introduce it until the other ducklings are hatched. She could imprint on it and leave the nest.

Duckling seems to be still very sleepy. Alert but not walking around much.

Do you have poultry nutri drench when you offer water I'd put some in the water it's a really good way to give them a boost.
Sure is a cutie. Do you have other ducklings that hatched with this one? you might try putting one with it to see if that perks it up.

If you don't have nutri drench on hand then try some sugar water. Mollasses is what I use, the brain runs solely on glucose and without enough glucose the brain won't keep the essential organs running. Also, water is best absorbed when there's nutrients to absorb with it, which is why I wet down some food and syringe feed the mixture.

I do have some nutridrench so I’ll put that in there. It has 4 siblings that are a day or two older than it. I’m just waiting until it’s walking steadily and I feel confident it’s okay before I put it with mom and the rest. I tried putting it with its siblings right after it hatched but mom kept stepping on it.

I had a momma chicken raising a single duckling, after about 3 weeks the mom was bored. She stopped caring and other adult hens beat up the duck. I penned it by it's self then after it healed I put him in with chicks. He gets along with the babies.

Looks just like a wobbly new hatched duckling. I’m afraid you are going to be disappointed putting it back out with the others unless it’s up running around good. AND mama is letting it stay with her and sibs. What it be needs is a mirror to keep it company. And V as for syringe feeding it very easy to have a newly hatch duckling chick etc aspirate so unless you are familiar with doing this V I’d a ise not to. Maybe @Everose can explain how she does it.
