Nibbler goes for a swim

My drake, Nibbler’s, legs are weak and, while he can walk around, he has a very hard time getting into the kiddie pools I have set up in the duck pen. Even with the ramp I made for them.

we have had a ton of rain and the pen is a muddy mess. I clean it out, put fresh straw down, and bam... more thunderstorms and a new muddy mess.

he has a hard time cleaning himself as he has trouble getting into the pools so he was covered in mud.
We got a swimming pool a couple weeks ago so decided to let Nibbler take a swim. He stayed in there for about 45 minutes, splashed around, got clean, then came over to the side when he wanted out. He was so happy and when I put him back in the pen he just went over to his girls and let them fawn over him.

With his leg issues my wife and I figure if we hadn’t gotten him, odds are he would be food by now. Either by a predator after being dumped in a park, or culled and someone’s dinner. So we want him to live as long and happy a life as possible here

I’m glad he has a owner like you to take care of him. He looks like his living is best life.
