Another fav of mine! My brother has his own sourdough starter (it was like 75 years old when he first got it 20 year ago or something) that he keeps growing / feeding.

He uses that to make AMAZING cinnamon rolls!
How does starter work/stay alive that long? Those cinnamon rolls sound delicious. I've never made any but maybe I should.......

My starter is a donation from Carl’s Friends sourdough. Has roots back to the Oregon Trail. Only way to do it.
Must have apples, raisins and walnuts or puh-cons in it.

At room temperature you feed it a cup of flour and a cup of water to a cup of starter. Leaves you about a cup and a little bit for ‘waste’ to cook with. Starter that old has been fed continually without it failing. If it’s refrigerated, you bring to room temp and feed for a couple days before putting it back.
