No calcium for 2 days?

One of my hens laid for the 1st time yesterday! I ordered oystershell, which won't come for at least 2 days...she is a golden sexlink....will she be ok w/ out calcium for two days?

Mostly not...I give them greens and food to mock a free range diet alongside feed, sometimes they go out in the yard, once a week.

Thanks...was just worried because her first egg was obviously weak, cracked when boiling...

Calcium is for the eggs.Keeps the shells nice and hard to avoid cracking so easily like store bought eggs.So it’s not like it effects the overall health.

Could I give them eggshells from market eggs? Wouldn't it kill the bacteria if i put in oven at 375 for 10 mins?

I have read on here, you should not feed egg shells from store bought eggs. I would just wait for the Oyster Shell and put in a separate container near feed. . GC
