No Feathers Between Wings

hi.

i have two nearly five week old black (maybe blue) orpingtons that don't have feathers between their wing feathers, they don't have any fluff there either. it's just two out of fifteen, none of the others look like these two.

has anyone seen this before?
 
Did they shave their armpits?

If they start growing in little spikes like porcupine quills, I would say roo. My silver laced wyandottes were the only ones I have ever had that did that.
Otherwise, it might just be a late bloomer. I had one of those too.
