Hey all!
When i de-parasite my silkies every 3 months, I mix 3ml of noromectin in a gallon of water. This always does the trick quite nicely. I have 2 new chicks that are about one month old. Are they old enough to drink this water without being poisoned?

I honestly don't know the right answer so I'm going off of my personal feelings. I don't personally see the need to deworm unless there are signs that the chickens are infected, but I know many folks to deworm regularly and have good outcomes. Still, I would be hesitant to give chicks worming medication so soon. Are you asking because the chicks are in with the adult birds?

Yes, and its time to de-parasite the others and I I'll have to separate them from their mama so they don't drink the water, I guess. They've gotten parasites before from eating worms with parasites. Quite a few of my silkie gals have wet butt. I understand this could due to parasites or a body temp regulation issue.
