North Carolina ban to Kill Numerous Breeds

Part of the reasons that some statistics say Pit Bulls are always the ones involved in human attacks is because ANY dog who is involved in an attack that has a larger sized head is automatically labeled a pit bull or a pit bull mix. Some bully breeds WERE developed for human aggression and some of those breeds are gaining popularity and being crossed onto other bull breeds. But no matter what is really behind the genetics, they are always labeled Pit bulls. This is a fun little test......see if YOU can spot the pit bull on this link. Only one of the 25 dogs on this test is actually a pit bull.

Everything is correct except Chance in Homeward Bound was an American Bulldog, not an American Pit Bull Terrier.

What a great test! I narrowed it down to 3, one of which was the right one. But 2 others I was unfamiliar with threw me.

I myself have had 2 great danes, and they were the best dogs for our family. I also own a pitt mix, and let me tell you something, he is nothing but a big lug!!! All of these dogs are different. Each of them with their own temperment, just like a person. My dane Abbie was very protective of her family, especially me. Would I trust her around just anyone, no way, BUT, once she was sure of who you were, it was okay with her. The other, Patches, who we recently had to put to sleep, was almost 11 y/o, was just one big love of a dog. I couldn't see her making anyone feel uncomfortable. I love all dogs, all animals, and like was stated, it is our fault that these animals get such a bad rap in the first place. Heck, look at Cesar Milan, how many pitts does he own?? All of them rescues too. We need to take responsiblity for our own actions, and not blame it on all these breeds.

exactly. Whenever I hear of a dog attack on the news, it either says it's a pit bull or the breed is not identified at all. You will never hear about a Lab biting somene because they usually just call them pit bull crosses.

what are we supost to do about it just talk and say how bad it is what are we going to do nun of this helps the dyeing dog and all ready ded dog?

This really breaks my heart. I have a pit mix and a GS mix, both adopted, and they are the sweetest dogs ever!!!! The pit I've had for 7 yrs now, 1/2 of my son's life and they have best buds since day 1!!!

Is not the dog or the dog breed, is the owner!

If you go onto the petition page and click petition updates it says that it has been dropped and they are going to start to carfully vet the people that they adopt to so they can ensure they will be responisble owners.

I have an Akita and i have never had any problems with her being a bully.

For all those that believe so much in pits........think of the reason they are named pits....the breed was bred for , the holding bite, yes they do , not lock their jaws, being able to fight to the death without giving up. The real facts pits were bred to kill, for sport. in the fighting pits.It the nature of the breed , not the training. Just like fighting game chicken ,in their blood to fight to the death ,not train to kill. yes alot of people mistake other dogs as pits , but they still are the number one breed for killing humans.

Their fearless of nothing is reason , its the breed of most drug dealers also.

Never fail either after a pit has kill a small child, you hear the owner say he/she would never attack before. problem with a pit it only takes one time.

The biggest defense people use is pits don't attack or bite as much as a toy breed ,just like some started on this thread....a dog biting is not the same as a dog KILLING.

bet just about anyone here had to pick a attacking dog they had to defend a small child from.....Toy Breed or a Pit .

Noway are these small breeds more danger than larger breeds
