Hahaha
I have a basic Farm Innovations incubator, it'll only run you around $40 and it has worked great for me.
Some people do really well with homemade ones, but too much could go wrong for me I'm not very mechanical!

What kind of eggs did you buy?
I bought a mix of Blue/Black & Splash Marans. I am tempted to try a homemade, but I have to have someone incubator sit for a couple days so I need something that is stable. I have a friend of a friend that is said to have a really good incubator I could probably borrow, I have to give her a call tomorrow.

Purchased a lavender Orpington last week and she has been in isolation this week, but I think I am losing her. Her breast bone and bottom are bare of feathers and she is not moving around any more. She was weak from the time I got her, (thought it might just be stress) never seemed to spread out her feet when I put her down, but would just kind of fall and didn't move around a lot. She is very friendly and sweet. Only 2 months old. It is very sad, but I don't know if there is anything I can do for her.

make sure she is eating and drinking and give her some electrolytes if she doesnt seem to want to eat add some egg to her food, could she have worms or something? it may be a good idea to contact the former owner if possible

fall seems to be settling in slowly which is nice.
fall seems to be a busy part of the year to me, harvesting
canning, planting or getting ground worked for next year,
worming chickens, sorting through the livestock,
decorating the house for each holiday, cooking for holidays.......
just seems busy

hope your day is a good one
