North Carolina

Well, I didn't get to go to the Sanford flock swap today but I was able to pick up a pair of Silkies and a Delaware rooster!!

I am SO bummed...this weather is NOT helping me get my garden planted or the electric fencing installed!! DH, DD and I spent the first half of the morning at Lowes buying supplies to make a potato box (making one for sweet potatoes and one for regular potatoes) and ended up buying supplies to finish my sewing room, to redo the doors on the coop and what seems like a bazillion other projects. Someone (DH) has cabin fever!! LOL. He is hard at work trimming and building a step for my sewing room while I have been planting my herbs in their pots for the house!! I had to take all our photos down just so I would have enough room for all the herb containers!! LOL.

Oops.

Monday I will be spending the day having a sewing "class" and working on making some more (smaller) chicken saddles as I found another one of my girls (my white maran, Tabitha) has a bloody back and Mrs. Tiggy's back is still pretty bad.

I can't get these girls to keep theirs on and I can't keep the boys off of them!! Sheesh!!

On a happy, side note: tonight's dinner is BBQ spare ribs, garlic mash potatoes, steamed carrots and green beans and some home-made rolls!! At least I managed to do something!! LOL. Good luck to those of you who went to the swaps today (if they didn't get rained out) or those of you going to WCA tomorrow!! As for me...I think I am going to curl up with my kitty and read a book (while sneaking peaks at DH in all his building glory!!

He's such a great hubby)!!

I will be in Fayetteville next weekend and was wondering if their will be a Flock Swap? If so where is it and what time.

Just curious does everyone build their own coops or have you bought one? My hubby keeps going back and forth on either me buying one or he would build it. We really do not want to spend too much. Any ideas or pics to help me out? I would love to see your coops.

Going to try to post a picture of the style of coop I really keep getting drawn to:
