What does everyone run their humidity at?  

I run mine at 30%. Then up it to 60-70% the last few days

I have mixes, if she can come get them I'd give her a half dozen or so.

I will have to say I don't know for all of these... (I bought the eggs on ebay  ) I am assuming that yes, they do eat quite a bit reading how other BYCers have to block the chicken coop so they can't go eat all the food. Yes, they are good foragers/weed eaters. As far as I know, they don't fly because they are too heavy. Other than that, I've heard that goose eggs taste better than duck or chicken, but are more cholesterol. I am excited b/c when I was a teen, I loved to paint/decorate blown eggs, and these are such a nice size I think they'll make some awesome ornaments/gifts!

I was given a goose egg and a couple of duck eggs, yrs ago. I made an omelet out of them both, put cheese and bacon and tomatoes, it was really yummy, but it was very rich. so rich that i got a tummy ache. with all the cheese and butter and bacon, i guess, just too rich for me. I would love to try goose eggs again someday. maybe when i get a goose or two??.

for chicks, one batch (1st) humidity was at 40%, 2nd batch of chicks i did a dry bator until I put in lockdown and then humidity was 75%
for my duck eggs i had it at 60% and lockdown at 75-80%.
But i am a beginner, so, there it is there!! maybe i shouldn't even answer this Q.


P.S. I am ok with driving to north Spokane for our next meet!!

I have had good luck running 50% until lockdown then 70%. But of course im doing staggered hatches so everybody is getting a lot of ups n downs. So mine may not count...

Is it bad that I'm planning out my keep/grow out bird hatch months in advance?

Set date: May 28; Hatch date: June 18; 3 weeks old: July 9 (when the average temperature will be 79 degrees)

That only gives me another month to get all my breeding pens setup
