I don't know but my 8 month old Ameraucana went broody, granted I shortened it by giving her mostly incubated eggs already (She was only sitting ~10 days before they hatched). She's a super good mom so far! But the only one of our Am hens so far to be broody. Maybe other large fowl go broody often?  Which reminds me, I need to do a broody box soon because we can't be hatching out chicks every time a broody happens...
Oh okay! Good to know. Thanks:)

Yay! Got my first rooster today. A black ameraucana. Just picked him up from pips and peeps about 15 min ago! On our way home and so very excited! :) thanks pips and peeps!

I had a minorca before, someone thought she was a roo, and she was with roo chicks, I knew she was a female and chose her, she would follow me every where and always wanted to know what I was doing.
