Northern California Meet Up/Chicken Swap - Sunday October 10th!

Quote:
OH Steff, I know you won't be able to live without a coronation hen!

Cheryl, now that you plan on breeding you should look into getting a SOP book from the APA.

I don't believe that the Coronation Sussex have been accepted into the APA, but I'm sure you could find the Australian Standard somewhere online. Either way the APA SOP is an invaluable source of information that any breeder should have a copy of.

Thanks yep already ordered the usa version

Cheryl, are any of these the "cranky" one? If so, that should be disclosed!

Beautiful birds! I am doing my own flock reduction here this morning with a couple of my juvenile roos taking a one-way trip to the feed store. They are gorgeous and should get snatched up fast. I need them out of here so the testosterone/estrogen levels can normalize. Yesterday the chicken yard resembled a Russell Crowe movie set. Today the poor dears will be locked in the coop most of the day while sod is being laid in their yard. I am so over this mud! I start out each trip across the chicken yard to the coop wearing flip-flops and return wearing 6 inch platforms! Mud gotta go!

The run is almost 2,00 square feet so I am hoping the sod will last. We sodded half of their last yard and it was fine. I gotta do something I am running out of shoes!

I should buy your Beatrice and put her with my Lukka-Look-Alike. Can you imagine the discussions those girls could have all day? Oops, I can, nevermind.

When Lukka-Look-Alike and Judge Judy both wake up on the wrong side of the roost look out. Judy follows me around shrieking at my ankles and the other one stands in the doorway yelling and pacing. Gotta love the girls with attitude!
