Not again 😣

That is too funny! My big duck's absolute favorite goodies include earthworms and minnows. Actually my bigs and littles go a bit crazy over earthworms. Oddly enough, they've never been a fan of peas, like most ducks I've read about. I've only got one duck, out of around a couple dozen, that likes peas and she's recently become obsessed šŸ˜
How are your beauties doing today?

Mine haven't tried minnows, but Dougie is a big fan of anything vaguely edible- earth worms are a big favourite for her. Sprightly is just.... different. Lol.

They're both doing okay today thanks for asking! Sprightly is super moody this afternoon, but seems to be feeling okay. Eating, drinking... Catching bugs of her liking, lol

They are plotting against me.
I grab Spright to give her a second dose of calcium, and I put my syringe down for two seconds while I open her mouth ready.

Dougie sneaks over, grabs the syringe and takes off! I had to get it back!
:lau
She knew her sister disliked it and was trying to save her the torment!

Either that, or she wanted some of that special 'treat' too!

I haven’t read through your full thread, but at one point you mentioned that you thought her poop might be runny. My ducks all had runny poop, then I started probiotics (Hen Boost) and it’s made a HUGE difference. The other thing I’m trying is worm and mite management with putting diatomaceous earth in their feed. It’s not hugely effective in getting rid of worms, but it can work as a preventative measure. I hope Sprightly recovers well. Here’s the article I mentioned in my thread about making a duck go broody: https://www.tyrantfarms.com/why-and-how-to-make-a-duck-go-broody/

Good luck!

I was probably talking about her poop when she had an egg to lay- when they get uncomfortable they drink lots of water and stop eating, so end up pooping a lot of wet watery poop.
Though, most of the time their poops are pretty wet anyway, as they have wet food and stay very well hydrated lol

But it probably can't hurt to try probiotics
I'll check out the article, thank you!
