Not again 😣

I think Spright's shells are getting better again, I had to look very closely to find her egg from last night, because there weren't many deposits, they didn't stand out.
In other news, I checked on them last night and saw:

Miss Dougie sitting on the eggs. This was around midnight, and they were still warm this morning.
So she's clearly going broody, and I'm not sure if she's kicking Spright off, or if Spright has given up on it.
But either way, I'm happy to let Dougie go broody, I'd feel better if both of them had a break, and perhaps if she starts sitting full time, Sprightly will join her.

Dougie kicked two eggs from the nest last night, and I checked them and believe bacteria has gotten in. She seems to have very good instincts, removing them before they contaminate the rest.
Anyway, I'm thinking at this point, I should perhaps get some fake eggs. That would work right?

Guess who's broody n moody today :celebrate
No, it isn't Spry. Unfortunately. But one down!
Hopefully Sprightly goes broody too. What this guarantees is that Spright spends more time inside the coop, thus around the eggs, and also out of the light to an extent...
And for Dougie, we might actually get her to stop laying! So hopefully this mess can be avoided for her.
She didn't lay an egg last night. Sat on them all night SO determined. Met me with a lot of sassy fluffy quacks this morning, did the biggest duck poop I've ever seen in my life, ate, drank, washed and back into the nest to sit!
Hopefully it sticks and she is planning on sitting full time!! We will see. Today is a great day to test her, as its super warm and sunny and the pools full with clean water....
:D

Well I think this is it! Dougie sat on the nest all day. Possibly came off for 30 minutes in total? Just occasional trips to get food and water.
Sprightly gave up on waiting for her to come out, and ended up spending the evening in the coop, in the other nest box (she likes to sleep there). So I've made her a nice little nest there for her, to hopefully lay in tonight. And hopefully she'll go broody as well.
Dougie makes lots of mean faces, but she's still my baby at heart. She hasn't attacked me, even when I lifted her tummy to check the eggs before bed time. (A couple were cracked, a couple days ago, so I'm checking incase that happens, I don't want them breaking)
