It's been half an hour or so of warm baths, her eyes are finally open again*HUGE HUGS TO YOU* I don't know what to offer so far as advice, but know you have my positive thoughts and support. Keep her hydrated is all I can say, and continue the warm baths.
I pray that she gets past this and makes it alright. They sure can stress us out when things go wrong. I think some Hens are just more prone to laying problems than others. I have been very fortunate with my 12 duck hens that I have never had a laying problem. Hopefully this will pass and she will be fine. It's been half an hour or so of warm baths, her eyes are finally open again
She's been drinking, and splashing a little as of the last few minutes, so I'm confident she's not in any pain, least anymore. Shes still very tired but more energy than before. Tail is returning to normal position
No interest in her favourite foods yet though
Jeez this bird stresses me out! I love her far too much
Thank you!Hey, was there membrane for the shell that came out?
It sounds like maybe she got startled while making the egg and it came out early. That tends to be super hard on the bird.
You did everything right as soon as you found out there was an issue. The only thing left was making sure she was hydrated (and some one else mentioned that)
You're doing great hon! Your ducks are lucky to have you!
