Not Emergent. Chicks Eyes.

One of my chicks (~30 hrs old) seems to have crusty/not right eyes. Otherwise seems healthy and active finding the food etc. (sorry, pics have been problematic...so dang small). Question: Would a quick smear of triple antibiotic ointment (w/o pain med) be a safe first step?
