Not growling

So I have a unicorn. My leghorn Jane went broody. She has sat on 10 eggs all day and has been acting aggressive in the last week running everywhere like she is search for her missing eggs she started sitting on the nest early today and upon looking her over I found she has been pulling her breast feathers so I’m 100 percent sure she is wanting to sit. However she doesn’t growl when I reach to pet her. Is that normal?

Not all hens growl. Some just pancake down and go almost trance like.
