So far this year we've caught one giant raccoon. You can't tell from the picture but it's larger than both of my boston terriers.

Last year we caught stray cats, opossums, raccoons, and 4 skunks!

Then we caught this mean creature.

our poor polish chicken. She would get herself stuck in that trap on a daily basis. Until she got killed by a stray cat![]()
Nice looking lab mix!
What did you do to the cat? Hope its deceased. No place for cats when they go after your chickens! My neighbour's new kitty has been taking care of my rodent problem all winter. So far, so good. Birds are locked up at night when cats seem to come out. I keep finding another bigger cat on my trail camera, passing by my coop. Raccoons are coming in close now too. Wildlife of all sorts, are on the move right now.She was such a nervous and skittish chicken! I loved her mostly because she was kind of pathetic. She would freak out if the rest of the chickens wandered off and she'd find herself alone. She'd start running around and bump into walls. It was just so sad when she got killed. I felt so bad that it was her. Not that you want it to be any of them. I caught the cat who killed her the very next night when it came back for seconds. I loved what she looked like but i have to admit she was my first and probably my last polish.

I think their "afros" (that's what my kids call them) get in the way of their vision and that's what causes them to get skittish easily. I can walk up behind mine to pick her up and she has no clue I'm there until I scoop her up and she freaks out for a few seconds. I'm sure it blocks more of their vision than we think.
