From a local breeder was sold to me as a blue buff Brahma. Can’t help but wonder with that big fat single comb.

He's very likely a brahma mix. His coloring is wrong as well.

I think he's more likely a cochin mix. The pea comb is dominant, so if he was a brahma mix, he'd have a pea comb.

That’s what I thought and when I asked her that she said she has no Cochins. All her birds are purebred. Here’s a more recent picture:

eta: that is to say, each line is different. So if you got one from one hatchery, and the other from another... they will have slight differences.
