Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

No sexlinking there. White Leghorns are extended black with dominant white affecting the solid black pattern. They aren't silver, so you can't sex by color.

Update on the leghorn chick. He was tentatively named Foghorn Jimmy as his papa is Jimmy Crackcorn and mama is a white Leghorn. Handsome little devil. I was sitting in the field with the goats this morning after milking and heard this scratchy little crow coming from the chick enclosure. I had to listen again to be sure of what I heard and sure enough there it was again. Not like when our first couple roos started out, 1 note then another over a week or 2 until they were sounding off with 4 or 5 notes.
He started right off with 4 or 5. I am assuming this is in part due to the fact that he already has 5 other guys to learn from rather than having to rely on genetics.
He has also been our earliest crower by far at 6 weeks and 5 days. I don't recall any of the others starting before about 16 weeks.

just verifying all my ladies now14 weeks and can only post one pic at a time from my phone, I believe is a black sex link pullet and should be laying soon since we tried a golf ball trick and she's babying it. But mean to the roosters trying to mate
