Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

Almost 4 weeks buff orpington. Starting to maybe look like a cockerel to me. What do you think?
that's a boy

They had a bunch of them in a tub labeled pullets... If she is a sexlink wouldn't they have known?

This very thing happened to me too. I went to tractor supply and got a black sex link. One of the workers swore up and down that the females had the white dot. They were selling all as pullets but only 2 out of maybe 40 chicks were completely black headed. Makes me think something else was put in there with them.(I didn't know about the spot until later when I researched)

Is there any way to sex RIR early? I've heard about the black line and how males will have longer tails(???). These methods have me thinking the chick on the left is a cockerel. Well that and the fact that is comes after me every time I stick my hand near it. If anyone had any concrete ways to tell I would love to know!

I'm bored, so here are my thoughts.

Any guesses on gender? Hatch day was 2/28, so about 5 weeks old. 3 bantam frizzled Cochins

Nugget (chick 1)

The one sticking it's head out and the one on the far right both look like boys. Can't tell with the rest.

6 to 7 weeks. I think they tan is a buff cochin bantam, no clue on sex and I believe other is a black sex link pullet.
Any thoughts?

Pretty sure they are both pullets.

Barred rock bantam, no idea on sex and not sure but thinking a EE bantam, and with the red comb I assume cockerel?
Both 6 to 7 weeks.

Barred rock looks like a pullet and the EE a cockerel.

My 6-7 (?) week old EE, I'm pretty sure pullet but thoughts? My Dominique cockerel (originally sexed as pullets) that are a few days younger are very obvious at this point.

Fairly sure you are right on the EE that it is a girl and that Dominique looks like a cockerel to me.

All are about 8 weeks old, still looking like pullets to me as none have developed anymore comb or had it get red. What do y'all think?

All look like ladies.

I have three 6 week old chicks that I'm curious about. Any guesses?

There are tricky. I'm leaning towards pullet on them, but I'm not sure.

Well, I don't think I need to post here, because Bat (the top EE) and Penguin (the frizzle) are clearly roosters. Yesterday I wasn't sure, but they seem to have grown overnight. I wanted to post because a friend told me it's more about attitude than looks when identifying young roosters. That has been so true. I knew Penguin was a rooster when he still had his egg tooth!
