It's either a pullet that flushes easily, or it's a black sexlink cockerel. A bit too soon to be certain.
Ok thank you! I know for sure it isn't a black sexlink because I got it from a breeder who doesn't have black sexlinks. gives me a bit of hope! It's either a pullet that flushes easily, or it's a black sexlink cockerel. A bit too soon to be certain.
Black sexlinks aren't a breed. All you need is a barred hen, like a Barred Rock, and a non-barred rooster. You don't need to have black sexlinks to produce black sexlinks.Ok thank you! Hi I love sexing chicks and I am pretty good at it I would like to help out sexing chicks if you dont mind.Hello! I decided to start another thread on helping all you back yard chicken farmers determine the sex of your chicken.
I know it can sometimes be super tricky to identify gender in chicks, so that's why we made this thread! No need to start your own thread, just hop on here and share a picture of your chick, making sure it's at least 4 weeks old before asking gender. Me and @Jetblack2004
are almost 100% on genders for chicks 4 weeks+.
So feel free to ask lots of questions regarding gender. We do NOT identify breeds, only gender. However, if anyone out there is good at identifying breeds, please let us know, we would love to have your help!
Thanks!

pullet.
6-7 week old polish chick. Any ideas if it's a cockrel or pullet?
I think its a cockeral.I'm confused on this one. It has the comb and wattles like a roo, but the feathering and dark legs like a pullet. She (hopefully) is a 6 week old barred rock. I already have at least 5 roosters out of 19. :/ not going so good. I even payed extra for pullets...
