Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

I think I have 2 roosters on my hands but would love to know what others think. I'm not sure on breeds, guessing again but possibly leghorn and a australorp x new Hampshire, but they are about 4 weeks old.

Thanks for a newbie chicken owner

Liz is now Lawrence started crowing this morning. About 8 weeks old. I think his fellow silkie is a roo too. All my other girls are bug breeds austrolorpe orpingtons and an ee. So I'll guess I will see if they all get along. Any advice on mixed flocks and small Roos?

Different breeds mixed together shouldn't be a problem. What is the hen to rooster ratio? I advise only keeping one rooster.

We had 10 hens last year and 1 roo added another that was given to us and it was a disaster. they were both lovely kind rosters but, they fought and I had to give one away. It was worst in the hen house where there was little space to run away. They would go at each other in the mornings. I worried that they would kill each other. Outside one was always alone, had no ladies and got no food.

We also have 10 hens and probably have 2 roosters (one for sure and the other suspect). Since they're the same age, they seem to get along okay. One is a blue cochin and the other is a gold crested polish. The poor polish can hardly see because of the huge crest, so there isn't much competition between them. I'm hoping it will stay that way since both are pretty and sweet birds.
