Hmm, this is a hard one. Eight weeks, right? I'm going with pullets.

Top chick could be a late bloomer cockerel. I'm not 100%. Hopefully you'll get a second opinion soon.

So we've waited a couple weeks to repost and see what you all think of our white and red being roos or pullets. What do you guys think? They are about 2 months old

Also, someone suggested to keep an eye on the patterns of the red one. Here it is two weeks apart. Newest photo on the right

Ok, I have another one for you. My barred rock, 10 weeks old. I posted a picture of the tail feathers because they seem rooster like. Do barred rocks tend to have redder combs? Online pictures indicate yes, no matter pullet or cockerel. Thanks!

Thinking pullet. Also, age has everything to do with redness of comb and gender, When mature pullets and hens will have combs about the same color as males. They do not get red until they are close to POL.

This is my GLW, just over 11 weeks. What does everyone think? Pullet or Roo?

Can't tell from this angle. Partridge males have black chests as adults so if you're seeing blotches of black there, it's a cockerel. Solid or patterned but evenly chestnut to light salmon is pullet. See the posting of Jimmy above. The black is starting to show on him. It only gets more obvious when they start the baby molts.

I have a silkie and 2 lavender Cochins. Notice how different the combs are...they are 5 weeks old. Is there a good chance I have a roo?
