Thank you very much!!Both look like cockerels. A prominent red comb and wattles at 7 weeks means they are males. A pullet at this age usually has a small pale comb and wattles.

I am not sure on this one. The comb seems a little red, but it could just be the sun. I'm leaning toward pullet, but a different pic in better light might help. Bright natural light out of the direct sun is best.8 week old barnyard mix
Hoping for pullet!
Hello! I decided to start another thread on helping all you back yard chicken farmers determine the sex of your chicken.
I know it can sometimes be super tricky to identify gender in chicks, so that's why we made this thread! No need to start your own thread, just hop on here and share a picture of your chick, making sure it's at least 4 weeks old before asking gender. Me and @Jetblack2004 are almost 100% on genders for chicks 4 weeks+.
So feel free to ask lots of questions regarding gender. We do NOT identify breeds, only gender. However, if anyone out there is good at identifying breeds, please let us know, we would love to have your help!
Thanks!

Thank you!You might need to wait longer to tell. The red wattles often show a cockerel, but not always. I cannot see the comb in the pics.
How old? 6 weeks? I would expect a male, but give it another week or so to be sure. I am in the same spot with an Australorp... waiting.Black maran. Leaning roo..View attachment 549524 View attachment 549526
